Emonda SLR 7 eTap Review
The Émonda SLR 7 eTap is Trek’s quickest climbing bike they have ever created. It is a super-lightweight, aerodynamic carbon road bike. Aero tubes made from lightest OCLV layup ever provide you the legendary ride quality of lightest platform in addition to additional speed. A accurate wireless electronic drivetrain and power meter also improve performance.
Overview
Features
If you want an aero carbon road bike that is incredibly light, quick, and enjoyable to ride, the Emonda SLR 7 eTap is the ideal option for you. Additionally, a fully wireless, customizable, and accurate electronic drivetrain is what you need.
Aeolus RSL OCLV Carbon integrated aero bar/stem, an ultralight and aerodynamic 800 Series OCLV Carbon frame that weighs less than 700 grams, a 2×12 SRAM Force eTap AXS wireless electronic drivetrain, light Bontrager Aeolus Pro 37 OCLV Carbon tubeless ready wheels, an SRAM Force AXS power meter, and strong hydraulic disc brakes.
Ultralight OCLV Carbon Frame
A completely new frame design for aerodynamics, together with a new collection of carbon fibers and “secret” manufacturing techniques, were employed to create the OCLV 800-series carbon used in the SLR frame.
Geometry
The geometry of the Emonda SLR is built around Trek’s H1.5 fit, an improvement over the company’s previous H1 and H2 numbers.
H2 is more reflective of the stance the rest of us non-pros are likely to adopt than H1, which provided you the complete pro experience—a slammed and ready-to-race position.
With a 73-degree seat angle and a sharp 73.8-degree head angle, the H1.5, on the other hand, strikes an excellent balance between race and enjoyment.
Although the wheelbase is short (992mm) and the reach isn’t very long (396mm), the 581mm stack is low and sporty (all figures quoted are for a 58cm bike).
Handlebar and Short-saddle
Whether you’re in the drops, on the hoods, or utilising the tactile tops, the delightfully ergonomic Aeolus RSL handlebar does a superb job of reducing high-frequency vibrations. Another benefit of high-quality Bontrager bar tape is that it prevents numbness in your hands.
The Bontrager Aeolus Pro short-saddle design in the back of the bike has also proven to be pleasantly comfortable for me and is cleverly padded in all the appropriate places.
SRAM Force eTap AXS
The best of all worlds, hydraulic disc brakes and wireless electronic shifting. The SRAM Force eTap AXS HRD shift-brake system combines cutting-edge technology with an effective design and offers AXS for simple customization.
Force eTap AXS rear derailleurs take advantage of our Orbit fluid damper for chain management and X-Range gearing technology for increased range. They are designed for both 1x and 2x systems.
Color Choices
For Men & Women: Emonda SLR 7 eTap is available in Six colors—Navy Carbon Smoke/Viper Red, Navy Carbon Smoke/Blue, Matte Onyx Carbon, Amethyst, Dark Prismatic/Trek Black and Radioactive Coral to Yellow Fade, with Eight sizes (47, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62). It weighs roughly (size 56) – 7.37 kg / 16.25 lbs.

Any hill is no match for this bike. It is aerodynamic for increased free speed but maintains the incredible lightweight ride quality for which Emonda is renowned. The wireless electronic drivetrain has a power meter and provides accurate, dependable shifts.
This SLR is everything a contemporary, complete race bike should be: rigid, responsive, incredibly light, while still taking into account aerodynamics and providing confidence handling.
The future of race bikes appears very bright and light when you combine all of the benefits of modern technology, including aerodynamic performance, low weight, finely adjusted handling, and the improved control provided by disc brakes.
FAQs
Why is Trek Emonda so heavy?
Due to Disc-brake and IsoSpeed, two components that significantly add weight, it is heavy. In addition, the current model’s T47 schell, built-in storage box, and extremely wide tyre clearance add 200 additional grammes. They could release the Domane SLR in 2021 as their debut bike.
Is Trek Emonda good for long distance?
You travel far by bike. But remember that you may still use Emonda and Madone for lengthy rides, as the majority of people do. Simply put, Domane’s degree of comfort is higher. A comfy bike that can tackle challenging terrain, such gravel roads or even trails, is what you desire.
Is the trek Emonda comfortable?
The comfort provided by the 420mm alloy bars, respectably soft 25c Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite tyres, very comfortable Bontrager Aeolus Comp saddle, and carbon Ride Tuned seatmast, among other components, is crucial since it allows you to simply enjoy the ride.
Can trek Emonda be a gravel bike?
You will find a best of both worlds of commuting and gravel. The Emonda Disc, according to Trek, makes gravel and adventure riding possible.
