Features

The Trek FX 3 Disc Women’s Stagged is a fantastic, multi-use bike that can get you where you need to go swiftly and safely, in our opinion. Additionally, it is enjoyable to ride on the weekends.

If you’re a commuter or fitness rider seeking for a versatile, comfortable bike with high-quality components that will hold up on longer rides and you prefer the fit and feel of touchpoints, like the saddle, made exclusively for women, then this bike is ideal for you.

All-weather hydraulic disc brakes, a lightweight aluminum frame with step-through geometry, a carbon fork, a Shimano drivetrain with 18 speeds and plenty of gears for hills, a Bontrager Satellite Plus IsoZone handlebar and ergonomic grips, a Bontrager H1 Women’s saddle, additional mounts for accessories like a rack and fenders, and puncture-resistant Bontrager H2 Hard-case Lite tyres round out the bike.

Alpha Gold Aluminum Frame

Trek’s Alpha Gold Aluminum is used for the frame. The FX3’s overall weight was reduced to around 26 lbs in large part due to the aluminum’s light weight and flexibility. The geometry of the bike, which is a technical term for the size and shape of the frame, allows for an upright riding position without the need for road riders to keep a hunched-over position. This, along with the flat handlebars, creates a highly comfortable position that is simple to maintain over long distances.

The front forks are arguably the largest improvement between the FX3 and the FX2. The FX2’s metal forks have been replaced with a set of carbon forks. This is one of the main reasons I chose the FX3 over the FX2, and it justifies the price difference. By removing a sizable amount of weight from the bike, the carbon, you can pedal even more quickly. The carbon also has higher flexibility, which has the advantage of absorbing more of the irregularities in the road surface. All in all, that results in a speedier and smoother ride for you.

Drivetrain

With the switch to a Shimano system, the FX3 Disc has undergone a considerable update. This combination runs smoothly and has all the gears you’ll need for quick flats and descents as well as effortless cruising up hills. There are two cogs at the crank and nine on the back hub, totalling 18 gears. This is noteworthy since it is an improvement over the FX2, which has 3 cogs at the crank. Although it may not seem like much, there are two advantages. The front derailleur can be adjusted so that it only catches two cogs rather than three, which simplifies maintenance and reduces weight.

Brakes, Wheels and Tires

You need a brake system that can pull you out of trouble when cars swerve in front of you or squirrels dart across the road in your way when you have a bike that is light, sensitive, and capable of moving as fast as you want it to. Trek has installed the extremely squirrel-friendly Shimano MT201 hydraulic disc brakes for this. The entry-level FX1 has brakes with linear draw (which are effective but can be impacted by rain and mud). The FX2 switches to mechanical disc brakes, a better technology. The FX3 then deploys heavy-duty hydraulic discs.

The tyres are mounted on 32-hole Bontrager Tubeless Ready Disc rims with Bontrager H2 Hard-Case Lite wheels.

The tyres are made to perform incredibly well on paved surfaces (even in slippery, rainy weather). They are robust and puncture-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about dealing with a flat on the way to work if you were to inadvertently ride over something sharp.

The step-through frame makes it simple to board and exit after your ride.

More secure braking eliminates the need for inclement weather to ruin your journey.

It can be used for everything you need it to, whether you’re commuting, exercising, or simply cruising to the farmer’s market to get groceries.

When you add DuoTrap S, it’s simple to accessorize with racks, a kickstand, fenders, lights, and fitness devices to track your ride statistics.

The cables are routed internally, protecting them from the elements and enhancing the sleek appearance of the bike.
