A 400Wh battery, a 250W Bosch Active Line motor capable of 20 mph, a Bosch Purion controller, and a lightweight Alpha Gold Aluminum frame. Additionally, there is a 9-speed Shimano gearbox, a suspension seatpost for smoothing out the road, hydraulic disc brakes, broad 45c puncture-resistant tyres for added stability, ergonomic grips, a kickstand, front and rear lights, a MIK rear rack, and fenders.

One of Trek’s most well-liked and reasonably priced electric bike models, with a tonne of accessories and high-quality parts, a variety of frame types, styles, and colours, a great guarantee, and assistance from a wide network of dealers and repair facilities
The Bosch Active Line motor produces quiet, smooth power that works nicely with the premium Shimano Alivio groupset and efficient Bontrager H5 tyres to create a great city and commuting ebike. It also features full plastic fenders, integrated always-on lighting, and a rear rack.
The suspension seatpost, huge 700x45c tyres that allow a lower attack angle and greater float, ergonomic locking grips, vibration-dampening solid steel fork, and a wide and comfy saddle all contribute to an incredibly comfortable ride.

Features

Verve+ 2 Drivetrain

Shimano Alivio is the drivetrain used on the Trek Verve+ 2. Shimano has a wide selection of drivetrains, as you are aware. In terms of quality, Alivio is in the middle. It is superior to Altus, Tourney, and Acera. Although Alivio and Deore have comparable features and performance, I believe Deore is somewhat superior to Alivio.

They are dependable and the drivetrain operates well. They won’t require frequent adjustment like tournaments. One of my earliest electric bikes had a Tourney drivetrain, which I replaced with an Alivio when I broke it (tourneys don’t last very long). Oh my god, the performance I received from my e-bike was greatly improved.

Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes are used by Trek Verve+ 2. Hydraulic brakes are typically seen in e-bikes costing more than $2000. Shimano offers a wide variety of parts, all of varying quality. Unfortunately, the MT-200 is not particularly high end. It is comparable to the majority of Tektro brakes. I only want you to be aware, not that you should undervalue it. You are not getting excellent hydraulic brakes, just good brakes.

They are comparable to Shimano’s XT series, however they are less potent. Is it a problem for an e-bike for commuting? Absolutely not, thus replacing the brakes on your Verve+ 2 with more expensive XT brakes won’t make a difference to the majority of people.

Range & Battery

The bike’s power sources consist of a 400Wh battery and a Bosch Purion controller. On the Verve+ 2, this combination performs admirably. The fitness rides, to put it another way, are intended for cyclists who don’t mind becoming active or who wish to get back in the shape they were in a year ago. The motor is also rather covert and gives you a respectable range when used in Eco mode.

If you don’t live in a particularly hilly area or need to commute over long distances, a Bosch 400Wh battery should be sufficient. I wish this e-bike had a 500Wh battery pack because it would have a larger range and you wouldn’t have to worry about running out of power. My recommendation is to always have a charger on you, and if you commute by e-bike, you should maintain a charger at work so you can recharge your battery. It will cost about $500 to purchase a 500Wh battery pack and swap out your current power pack.

Pedal Assisted System

This electric bicycle falls under the pedelec category and has a 20 mph (32 km/h) power assist cut-off restriction.

The benefit of this design is that there is no motor resistance as you continue to pedal for more speed (freewheel).

You can choose from four (4) levels: eco, tour, sport, and turbo, depending on how much support you require.

Oh! What a feeling

The suspension seatpost smooths out tiresome road imperfections.

You can enjoy the best aspects of riding even more thanks to electric bikes’ increased power.

You can ride straight away because it is pre-equipped with lights, fenders, and a rear rack.

You can push your bike out of steep parking garages and bike caves with the Purion controller’s Walk Assist feature.

Our Rating

A universe of opportunities is made possible by the Verve+2 strong pedal-assist technology. You can travel further, commute more quickly, and climb hills with less effort. Quality components and comfort features make travelling farther and faster more enjoyable than ever. The added boost makes riding your bike even more exciting and joyful.

There is a Trek dealer in practically every significant American city. Trek is one of the market leaders in the bicycle industry. Therefore, most people may choose to get a Trek Verve+ 2 for this reason alone. I advise people to purchase a mid-drive e-bike whenever they can, especially if they want to use it for commuting.

For light commuting, I am extremely pleased with Trek’s performance. If you live in San Francisco, you can have weakness when attempting an ascent. Additionally, having a firm fork may be a deal-breaker for you if you have hand sensitivity. However, assuming they are all in working order, this commuter e-bike is really attractive and loaded with features.
